The Saskatchewan Foster Families Association provides certified in-person and video conferencing training to foster parents, organizations, and the general public.
Learn the Skills to Understand and Support Children in Care
At the SFFA, we provide the highest quality, comprehensive training free of charge to Ministry approved Foster Homes and individual’s actively completing the approval process. We also offer training to individuals and organization trainees for a modest fee. Please contact the SFFA Training Coordinator for more information on upcoming courses or cost inquiries.
Available classes cover all mandatory training as well as additional topics focused on Caregiver or Child-specific needs.

Trust-based Relational Intervention® (TBRI®) Caregiver Training

TBRI is an evidence based practice that meets the needs of the “whole child”. It is an approach to caregiving that is developmentally respectful, responsive to trauma, and attachment-based. TBRI is effective because it is founded in research, theory, and experience and by applying these principles, TBRI helps a child or youth return to a natural developmental trajectory.
