In-Home Support for Foster Families
If you, as a foster parent encounter special circumstances, such as a large number of children placed in your home or children with high-level needs, the In Home Support program is here to help you.
If identified by the Ministry of Social Services that you need some extra help, the SFFA can provide an In-Home Support Worker to help you with the day-to-day supervision of children, preparing meals, house cleaning, or laundry.
The purpose of the In-Home Support Worker is never to replace the role of the foster family, but to help foster parents focus on their primary responsibility - the children in their home - when there are difficult situations.
Who can fill this role?
If you or someone you know is looking for an opportunity to help Foster Parents and children in care, we are looking for qualified individuals to be In-Home Support Workers.
We are looking for people with the ability to take initiative, able to work as a team, take direction, and solve problems. In-Home Support staff must be able to deal with stressful situations and have exceptional decision making skills.
Identified and relevant training may be provided to In-Home Support Workers. The SFFA offers a competitive wage, benefits package, and a rewarding place to work.
